---The Plot---

 

Middle Age. Denmark.

The drama take beginning on the platform of the royal castle of Denmark.

During a night, two soldiers, Francisco and Bernard, see a ghost, with the appearance of the old king Hamlet, brother of the actual king Claude and father of the young prince Hamlet.

At this point go in scene Horatio, friend of the prince Hamlet, and Marcellus, an officer.

Horatio, more cultured than the other, search for speak with the ghost, but in vain, because the ghost go out.

The four friends decide to speak about that with Hamlet, who, at first, don't believe his friends, because he know that his father had worty burial and so now could not wander without destination; at second moment, but, he decide to see himself this vision.

And so, during a night, the ghost of the king reappear and tell Hamlet the real cause of his death: Claude, his brother, with the complicity of the queen, put a powerful poison in his ear, causing his death.

From this point, Hamlet go mad, promising revenge.

*** It is now that Hamlet, in a soliloquy, speak:

To be or not to be, this is the problem! ***

A day, arrive at Court a drammatic company and Hamlet, taken by madness, ask them (the actors), to represent the real story of his father.

Infact, during a banquet, the actors play the drama and king Claude must leave the room for the remorse.

After the banquet, the queen, Gertrude, call her son, the prince Hamlet, in her room and ask him expositions, but during the conversation Hamlet notice a man behind a tent and kill him with the sword; the "man" is Polonius, the chamberlain of Court.

After that, Hamlet must go in exile in England, but during the navigation, he is imprisoned by pirates and only after months, he is free thanks to Horatio and he can go back to his country (Denmark).

At the castle, in the same time, for the funerals of Ophelia, lover of Hamlet and daughter of Polonius, there is also Laertes, brother of the girl died, that want to know by king Claude like is died his father (Polonius).

The king reveal him the guilty, Hamlet.

At this point, Laertes is decided to fight against Hamlet and so begin the duel. Laertes put the point of his sword in a cup of poison and hurt Hamlet, but, after that the queen drink the poison of the cup and die, Hamlet know the trick and kill at first Laertes and after king Claude.

The drama conclude with the death of Hamlet, that vendicated his father, himself drink in the cup poisoned; Fortebraccio, prince of the Norwegians, arrive in that moment at caste and, known the story by Horatio (the better friend of Hamlet), order the funeral of a great prince of Denmark, the prince Hamlet.
